"I had visited Moscow and St Petersburg and loved them, but I decided I wanted to see more. What was the real Russia like, I wondered? So I did a search on Google and found a post as volunteer assistant English teacher for three months in a secondary school in a city called Izhevsk. The school would arrange for me to live in a Russian family while I was there."

Indeed, Patricia Smith accepted the challenge and left for Russia to discover how life over there feels and looks like!
